E-signature MCP
E-signature MCP is an MCP server from an e-signature service. It lets AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude and Manus create documents, send them for signature and follow them up, straight from the chat. Each step is an MCP tool. The person who signs does it on the service's signing page, not in the AI tool.
How it works in Formify
Formify's e-signature MCP server is at https://mcp.formify.eu/mcp. You add the URL once in your AI tool and sign in with your Formify account (OAuth). No API key needed.
Then you ask in plain language, for example "Upload this PDF and send it to the buyer and the seller." The AI tool prepares and sends the document. The signer gets an invitation by email, SMS or WhatsApp and signs on Formify's signing page. Every signed PDF is sealed with a qualified certificate from a provider on the EU Trusted List. The MCP connection has no separate fee.
What to check when you choose an e-signature MCP
- Which functions are MCP tools. The AI tool can do what is in the MCP server's tool list, and nothing more. Formify's 50 MCP tools cover sending from a template or your own PDF, preview before sending, signing order, reminders, changing a signer's contact details, revoking, downloading the signed PDF, public signing links and webhooks.
- Identity verification (AES). Check that the AI tool can ask for identity verification, not just a drawn signature. In Formify you ask for Live ID, a passport scan and a video selfie, and the signature is an Advanced Electronic Signature (AES) under the EU eIDAS Regulation.
- Sign-in with OAuth. Check whether you sign in with your account or have to paste an API key. With Formify you sign in with your Formify account. An API key is a fallback for AI tools that cannot sign in with OAuth.
- Who signs. The AI tool prepares and sends, the person signs. In Formify the signature is made on Formify's signing page, and the signer does not need ChatGPT, Claude or any other AI tool.
- Where the data goes. The AI tool fetches what it needs for what you ask, and your AI provider processes that data under your agreement with them. Formify is the data processor for contract data stored in Formify.

FAQ
Which e-signature services have an MCP server?
Several, and Formify is one of them. The comparison table on Formify's MCP page compares e-signature MCP servers function by function, checked against each provider's official MCP tool list on 9 October 2026.
Can ChatGPT send documents for signature?
Yes, with an e-signature MCP server such as Formify's. Add the server URL in ChatGPT and sign in. ChatGPT then prepares and sends the document, and the signer signs on Formify's signing page.
Is a contract sent through MCP legally binding?
Sending through MCP does not change the signature. Under eIDAS, an electronic signature cannot be denied legal effect just because it is electronic. The level follows how the person signs: a drawn signature without identity check is often called a Simple Electronic Signature (SES); in Formify, a signature with Live ID is an AES. Whether a specific agreement is binding also depends on the agreement and on national law.
